What is chain free property?
A chain in the house buying and selling process is a sequence of linked house
purchases in which each house sale is dependent on the sale of the next house in
the chain.
A chain free house is one where the property isn’t part of a chain. The house might
be vacant with the seller already having bought a new home, or the seller might
not be buying another property. New homes would also fit into this category.
If there is no attached purchase to the house sale then generally there is less
risk of the house sale falling through. Buying a property chain-free means there
is only one buyer and one seller involved so all the negotiations are much simpler
than in a long chain.
