Your Move is delighted to support International Men’s Day (IMD) today (19th November) and to join other organisations around the world to celebrate the positive value men bring to the world whilst, at the same time, help in raising awareness about the importance of mental well-being.
Managing Director, Oliver Blake, along with Regional Managing Director, Ryan Oliver, will be taking part in a virtual panel discussion, which colleagues are invited to attend, and there will also be the opportunity to access a special webinar during which Dan Cross and Efrem Brynin, from Channel 4’s ‘SAS Who Dares Wins’, programme will talk about their past mental health issues. Colleagues are also being reminded about the wide ranging resources available through LSL, Your Move’s parent company, to support their own mental well-being. This includes a confidential Employee Assistance programme that is available 24/7.
As a further sign of their support of the special day, LSL will also be donating £2, for every person who attends the events it has organised, to Movember, the leading UK charity funding men’s health projects including mental health and suicide prevention, testicular cancer and prostate cancer.
Helen Buck, Executive Director for Estate Agency at LSL commented:
One of the six pillars of International Men’s Day is to improve gender relations and promote gender equality not only for men but for women too with the theme of the Day this year being “Better relations between men and women.” We’re therefore organising events within LSL that aim to focus on this and, above all, demonstrate our support of colleagues across the Group; whatever their personal circumstances may be.
It follows events we held for International Women’s Day in March which acknowledged the huge contribution that women make to business and society as a whole which, like our events today, fully support the aims of our new Inclusivity & Diversity Forum; ensuring everyone within LSL feels supported and valued.”
