Why Move to Bothwell
The thriving conservation village of Bothwell has earned its reputation as one of Glasgow's most prosperous satellites. Boasting a number of fine restaurants, trendy bars and coffee shops. The village has two popular primary schools and is in close proximity to Uddingston Grammar and Hamilton College, there are also a number of pick up points within the village to popular Glasgow schools.
Bothwell provides a number of attractions including the historic Bothwell Castle Scotland's finest 13th century castle. Sports and recreational pursuits are well catered for including Bothwell Castle Golf Course, Bothwell Tennis Club and Bowling Club.
The neighbouring town of Uddingston offers a further first-class selection of shops and retail parks, sports and recreational outlets and highly desirable schooling.
Train stations are to be found at Uddingston, Blantyre and the international airports of Glasgow, Prestwick and Edinburgh are readily accessible via the motorway system.
Every autumn the Bothwell Scarecrow Festival is a great event and has become very popular with the Main Street filled with imaginative scarecrows from August onwards. Many local businesses make their own scarecrows, as do the local children whose gardens are also filled with scarecrows at this time of year. Your Move McLaughlin are proud to be Main Sponsors of the event since the first festival in 2011.
